Each year, the construction industry recognizes Women in Construction Week, a time to celebrate the women who contribute their talent, leadership, and dedication to building the infrastructure our communities rely on every day.
Construction remains one of the largest industries in the United States, employing more than 11 million people nationwide. Yet women currently represent only about 11–12% of the construction workforce, and an even smaller percentage work in field or trade roles.
When you narrow that even further to specialized sectors like heavy civil and airfield paving, the number of women working in the industry becomes even more limited.
