Replace Pavement Primary Taxiway & East Parking Apron at Langley AFB in Langley, Virginia
This project at Langley Air Force Base included the replacement of the primary taxiway and construction of the new East Parking Apron (for the F-22 Raptor). The project included removal of the existing taxiway, preparation of the subgrade in both areas, new granular base course, new underdrains and storm drainage, new concrete and new asphalt shoulders. This also included in-pavement electrical and lighting, electrical duct bank work, aircraft tie-downs, pavement markings, and seeding and sodding. This project was awarded the ACPA Gold Award for Military and Commercial Airfields, as well as the First Civil Engineer Squadron Coin in recognition of outstanding project performance and timely completion.
